5 Guided Meditations That Have Helped Me Throughout the Years

I started meditating in 2021 through guided meditations provided for free on Insight Timer. The first one I ever did was "Honoring Life" by Sarah Blondin.

I was on a month long road trip at the time and found myself at a Reggae music festival on the border of Colorado and New Mexico. I was with a new friend, Matthew, and he asked me if I'd like to meditate with him. I was kind of new to yoga at the time, hadn't meditated before, and was honestly nervous to do so. It seemed daunting, but I said okay. We sat in his van and he played Sarah's beautiful angelic voice and I instantly began to cry. It was a life changing moment for me that instantly broke me open to parts of myself I had never felt before.
Since then I have used Insight Timer for 1,074 days and 43.5k minutes. Safe to say, I'm hooked.
Since then I have also developed a different type of meditation practice. The kind where you sit in silence, not moving, just breathing. They are both different and one is not better than the other. If you are new to meditating I would recommend a guided meditation to begin.

When you are ready to begin find a nice quiet space to relax. You can sit or lie down. Turn your phone on do not disturb. Take a few deep breaths. Click play. Close your eyes, and try to focus only on the voice of the person speaking. Often times I will set a timer on my phone for a few minutes after the meditation is expected to end, especially if I am laying down, because sometimes I fall asleep of slip into dreamland for who knows how long lol.
Honoring Life by Sarah Blondin is the first meditation on this playlist.
The second meditation is Manifesting Magnificence For Your Day by Davidji. I listen to this one a lot in the morning right after I wake up while I am still feeling sleepy and dreamy. He talks for a little while and guides you to think about certain things. Then he teaches you a mantra and gives you a few minutes of silence to repeat it to yourself internally. I love this meditation a lot and definitely notice a difference in my day when I start it with this.

The third meditation is Making Your Life Sacred by Sarah Blondin. This is my most listened to meditation on Insight Timer. I even have "make it sacred" tattooed on my left wrist. This meditation teaches you how to see the sacredness of everything in life. The good, the "bad, the in between. It is all sacred and full of purpose, even if you are not in the space to see it quite yet.
The fourth meditation is Discovering Your Dharma by Davidji. This one is all about finding your soul purpose in life. Similar to his other meditation, Manifesting Magnificence For Your Day, he talks for a little while, guides you to think about certain things, and then teaches you a mantra and gives you a few minutes of silence to repeat it to yourself internally. I have had some wild experiences during this meditation such as getting opportunities emailed to me while practicing it.

The fifth meditation is Becoming Your Own Beloved: Ritual of Self-Love by Sarah Blondin. So often we are worried about loving and caring for other people that we forget about ourselves. This meditation helps you to slow down and remember that you are your own greatest love. She invites you to love and listen to yourself through daily practice and ritual, such as listening to this meditation.
You will find all 5 of these meditations here. I have many more meditations that I love and will share in the future but these are the top 5 that come to mind. I hope you enjoy them. I am sending you so much love and light on your journey 🖤
Much Love,
Sasha
